Louise was choir director two different times at the Elizabeth Lee church -- 2003-2004, and then again from 2013 to 2016. We enjoyed attending the church, and still have many friends there -- including a number, I'm happy to say, who read this blog.
The church's two stained-glass windows, now more than a hundred years old, do not actually stand side by side as you see them above -- they are positioned on each side of the pulpit area at the front of the church. I put them together in Photoshop as an illustration for a commemorative booklet and audio-visual presentation which I created for the church to celebrate the renovation of the windows. Cleaning the glass.
The windows were removed, taken to the Llorens Leaded Art Glass Company of Winder, Georgia, and completely disassembled. Every piece of glass was cleaned, new pieces cut to fit as needed and then the windows were reassembled and reinstalled in the church.
Reassembling the windows with new lead.
I made two or three trips to Winder to photograph the process. It was fascinating to watch.
Reinstalling the windows in the church.
Just remembering an interesting project on this last evening of 2023. The photographs were made with Olympus OM-D E-M5 cameras.

Thanks for your comment, Roy. Has Elizabeth Lee indeed left that apostate denomination? If so, that is great news. Send me an email at djphoto@vol.com.
